Batteries are assembled in the UK to meet your specifications of size and capacity. About 50% of our batteries are rescued laptop batteries in excellent conditions and saved from landfill.
We tend to use primarily Japanese brands like Sony and Panasonic as we have seen they are pretty reliable and hold a charge.
Every battery is fitted with a BMS or Battery Management System to protect the battery from operating outside its safe operating area, monitoring its state.
Chargers aren’t included in our battery packs, if you require a charger please contact us or check if we have one in stock. You can use a lead-acid charger to charge lithium batteries as long as you can set the maximum voltage of the charger and as long as the charger does not have an automatic equalisation mode enabled.
Don’t use charges with more than 5A charger if you want to keep your battery for over 1000 cycles.
18650 batteries can safely discharge at 2C discharge current, this means that you can multiply this battery capacity by 2 to get the max discharge rate. Eg. 20Ah battery can be discharged in 30 min with a 40 Amp load.
To calculate of load current value with charge/discharge rate, it can be obtained by: C-Rate (C) = Charge or Discharge Current (A) / Rated Capacity of Battery
Expected available time of the battery on given discharge capacity can be obtained by: Used hour of the battery = Discharge capacity (Ah) / Discharge current (A)
